Kylie and Lincoln's Story

The Birth of Tyler Keith Wade

I received a phone call from Kylie on Saturday morning. She had been experiencing pre-labour for most of the week and was heading into the hospital to see how she was progressing. I went into the hospital and we talked about the possibility of going home, but Kylie felt comfortable despite having to do a lot of waiting.

Kylie spent Saturday night in hospital and things were much the same the next morning. She decided that a change of scenery would be a positive thing, so she headed down to have some lunch and a look around the shops with Lincoln and her mum.

By Sunday evening, Kylie was frustrated with waiting around and so decided to have her waters broken. Soon after, she began experiencing very strong contractions. Kylie got into the bath and back out not long after; she was not sure what would make her feel most comfortable at this point. She decided not long after that she would like something to help her deal with the discomfort and allow her to get some rest.

Lincoln stayed with Kylie and was joined by Kylie's mum to encourage her through the night. Kylie continued to have very intense contractions and found it difficult to get comfortable, but did so well to breathe through her discomfort.

Kylie was comforted by Lincoln and supported by her mum and sister-in-law, Jenna, while she bravely pushed out her baby.

A gorgeous little boy, Tyler Keith, was welcomed into the world at 3:55am on Monday 25th May 2009.

Congratulations, Kylie and Lincoln, on the arrival of your cute little man. Kylie, you displayed determination to birth your baby even though your body was taking the process slowly. Lincoln, you were a loving support for Kylie - and you managed to take any criticisms mildly! Well done and congratulations to both of you once again!
